Applications Open for World Science Forum Side Events
The call for proposals for side events within the framework of the World Science Forum 2027 (WSF2027) has been launched. WSF2027 will be held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, hosted by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), and coordinated by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), with the Turkish Young Academy also represented on the organizing committees.
Taking place in Istanbul on 17–20 March 2027, WSF2027 will bring together leading institutions and organizations from the global scientific community under the theme “Science in Times of Global Crises: Transcending Boundaries in a Fragmented World.” The Forum will address issues including the role of science in addressing global crises, sustainability, ethics and responsibility in science, science diplomacy, and the public value of science and technology.
Within the scope of the side event call, proposals are invited for innovative events that highlight the role of science in addressing global crises, strengthen dialogue across disciplines and communities, and contribute to building common ground in an increasingly fragmented world.
Academies of sciences, scientific organizations, and relevant institutions from around the world are encouraged to contribute to the scientific and international scope of WSF2027 by proposing side events connected to the Forum’s main theme, including events that foster international partnerships and cooperation.
The deadline for side event proposals is 12 October 2026.
