Assoc. Prof. Dr Muhammet Zahit ATÇIL
Board MemberZahit Atçıl is an Associate Professor of Early Modern Ottoman History in the Department of History at Boğaziçi University. He received his BA in Political Science and History from Boğaziçi University in 2005 and his PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago in 2015. His research focuses on the history of Ottoman diplomacy, Ottoman bureaucracy, and Ottoman state formation in the early modern period. He is currently preparing a book on the Ottoman vizierate. In 2020, he was awarded the Outstanding Young Scientist Award (GEBİP) by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).
